Sangamner is tribal and hilly area dental problems are quite common in this area of maharashtra. Use of mishri(tobacco powder) for cleaning teeth chewing of tobacco, beetle-nut, paan etc. are very common habits in the rural peoples.

At present days Gutkha has reached to higher classes and to the student also, smoking of biddies and cigarettes is also very much common in the society, hence diseases related to dental problems ,oral cavity are major health problems which both urban and rural area socities suffers from. After considering all oral health problems from which the rural people suffers, Sau. Mathurabai Bhausaheb Thorat Sevabhavi Trust decided to start dental college in this area. Accordingly proposal was submitted to various authorities for necessary clearances. We are very thankful and grateful all those who have considered above all facts and accorded permission to our SMBT Dental College.

The institution is situated in the midst of valley and spread over 5 acres of land. The dental college has beautiful natural enviornment and greenery. Sangamner is the most progressive and flourishing town in Ahmednagar District (Maharashtra State). It harbors a very good agriculture picture with excellent irrigation facilities. It also boosts of a very good commercial market. Industry it is equally developed. There are a lot of education institute depating education in various field and now SMBT Dental College and Hospital is a feather in it's cap.

The institute is located in the excellent campus near the Sangamner co-operative Sugar Factory which is 4 km. from Sangamner town on national Pune-Nashik highway. Nashik road Railway station is 60 km and Pune is only 145 km away from Sangamner. State transport buses are plying for every half hour from Sangamner. The holy shrine of Shirdi Saibaba, Shanishingnapur, Bhimashankar, Triambakeswar, Nashik and Vani are also located near to Sangamner.

The college has a self-sufficing infrastructure-it has a grand building which designed after taking consideration of all norms laid down by the various governmental authorities. The following facilities have been made available in the college building
